about

In Ancient Egypt the god Osiris is ripped to a thousand pieces by his brother Seth and scattered to the four corners of the earth. The goddess Isis gathers each piece in a single night, sewing them together until he is brought back to life. While once her magical powers were venerated, as she travels through time the goddess Isis is feared and persecuted. In this original song Georgie reinvents this ancient tale with hypnotic harmonies and mesmeric percussion

lyrics

Oh darling I won't sleep tonight
I’ll race and mend your body
For your eyes they lay
In pools of blood and hate
and your throat is turned to thunder
Tired gold is my thread
a tatter torn from our wedding bed
For these hands were made for sewing
these lips to quench your thirst

Oh darling I won’t speak tonight
I’ll hush and hear your fallacy
For my words they sway in fields that cut and grate
Where my mind it fears to wander
Silence heavy in my bones
A broken heart that fears to moan
For these hands were made for sewing
These lips to quench your thirst

Oh darling I won’t dream tonight
I’ll bend and bear your shackles
For my hands they lay
In pools of blood and hate
And my throat is turned to thunder
Tired gold around my neck
A tatter torn from our wedding bed
For these hands won’t take to sewing
These lips won’t quench your thirst
