Eagle's Whistle
07:37
|
|||
Eagle whistle to me
Eagle tear away the worst of me
Let me be the wind and dance with thee
Eagle, thin the veil and razor sharp
Teaser of these beating threads
A danger dance
Eagle how deep your eyes they slice the skies to a storm

St Bríd's Song
03:54
|
|||
We’re calling on St Bríd
Water wild and water free
We’re calling on St Bríd
Water wild and water free
River rush and river flow
Flood us wisdom oh
Wash our eyes that we might see
All the world in harmony
And as she rises from the deep
Let us laugh Let us weep
We’re calling on St Bríd
Flicker flame and fire free
Let it spark and let it burn
Let the light of Spring return

Howl
07:29
|
|||
She felt the knock of the devil rusty red rotten nail
Climb up and scratch against her skin
It left a mark oh swollen, bloody river flowin
Through which her soul it could not swim
And then cold hands came a lookin, hot pins came a poking
Her screams they scratched upon the sky
They cut the sky oh to ribbons blushed red from the killing
They hissed and snapped upon the wind
And then she howled out
She howled out
She howled out
And called upon the dead
Oh yes she called all the sinners, called them up from the river
Their skin it glistened in the night
And as her pulse was a slowin their fins lay upon her skin
Bright white and gold as dark as earth
Their kisses roused up a gale, turned her bloody skin to scales
That sang and whistled through the stream
She roared on up through the river till the salt sang about her
She hissed and snapped upon the waves
And then she howled out
She howled out
She howled out
And danced with the dead
The devils woke from their slumber ripped raw by a hunger
That pressed their bodies to the shore
Untethered boats now a quaking followed a light strangely shining
Bright white and gold as dark as earth
Their weathered lined now a shakin pulled a fish white as lightning
That sang and whistled through the stream
And then cold hands came a pokin, hot lips salivatin
They pulled her body scale from scale
But as the flesh reached their throats turned to barbs sharp as smoke
That blistered till their breath was short
In poured a song sweet as honey
For all women I drown thee
Your cold hands oh they will search no more
And then she howled out
She howled out
She howled out
And danced with the dead
And then she howled out
She howled out
She howled out
And danced with the dead

Minotaur
03:01
|
|||
I wait I wait but the quiet never comes
when silence leaves and the ringing it has won
a Minotaur captive in a dungeon
of my own creation
This labyrinth it is straining at the seams
turning to dust every love I've ever seen
It makes me laugh how I used to be a dreamer
now trapped in crooked dreams
So dig your heels let the gravel turn to blood
let this thread teach you to trust
rock these screams in a swaddle of hunger
for peace thats surely waiting

The Maid on the Shore
12:13
|
|||
There lived a young maiden alone on the shore
Let the wind blow high or blow low
There was nothing she could find to comfort her mind
Than to sing all alone on the shore
To sing all alone on the shore
There came a young captain sailed all the salt seas
Let the wind blow high or blow low
I will die, I will die the captain did cry
If I don’t have that made on the shore
If I don’t have that maid on the shore
After much persuasion they got her on board
Let the wind blow high or blow low
They bestowed her away in the cabin below
And the captain he did soon follow
The captain he did soon follow
But she climbed all the way to the jolly ship's prow
Let the wind blow high or blow low
She sang so sweet, so neat and complete
She sang all them sailors to sleep
She sang all them sailors to sleep
She partook of their silver, partook of their gold
Partook of their costly wares oh
Took the captains broad sword to use as an oar
And paddle her way to the shore
And paddle her way to the shore
Oh me men must be crazy me men must be mad
Me men must be deep in despair oh
To let you away from my cabin so gay
and paddle your way to the shore
and paddle your way to the shore
No your men their not crazy your men their not mad
Your men their not deep in despair oh
You deluded them all, especially yourself
I'm a maiden once more on the shore
A maiden once more on the shore
There lived a young maiden alone on the shore
Let the wind blow high or blow low
There was nothing she could find to comfort her mind
Than to sing all alone on the shore
To sing all alone on the shore

Tired Gold
05:27
|
|||
Oh darling I won't sleep tonight
I’ll race and mend your body
For your eyes they lay
In pools of blood and hate
and your throat is turned to thunder
Tired gold is my thread
a tatter torn from our wedding bed
For these hands were made for sewing
these lips to quench your thirst
Oh darling I won’t speak tonight
I’ll hush and hear your fallacy
For my words they sway in fields that cut and grate
Where my mind it fears to wander
Silence heavy in my bones
A broken heart that fears to moan
For these hands were made for sewing
These lips to quench your thirst
Oh darling I won’t dream tonight
I’ll bend and bear your shackles
For my hands they lay
In pools of blood and hate
And my throat is turned to thunder
Tired gold around my neck
A tatter torn from our wedding bed
For these hands won’t take to sewing
These lips won’t quench your thirst

Wise as a Fool
04:46
|
|||
Wise as a fool
Tired of this world
The night is only young
If you let it be
If you let it see
The beating of the bloody veins
That pour
That wind through this land
I wish I was made of earth
I wish I was a bird
Biting at the sky
Biting at the dawn
Tearing at the creatures that bark in the dark
So breathe one last breath
Let it teach you what you need to know
Its time that the show was over
And the heart can set
